Possible bad breath. Apart from that, it is not only the healthiest way to eat – it is the way our ancestors lived and we would not be here today if they hadn’t. On our present, recommended diet, we are on a collision course with nature and our own mortality.

How does a “low-carb” high protein diet really work?
I’m asking this question for an assignment that I have for college level biology. Also, try to answer, Why would a high protein diet lead to weight loss, and is the weight loss sustainable? And, what might be the negative side effects of a protein diet?

Your body turns all carbs food into glucose. That’s the fuel your body uses to spend energy. Most of us eat more carbs food than our body can convert to glucose and spend for fuel. Our body cannot store glucose. What you don’t use each day is converted to body fat. That’s the fat that gets stored on your body. It’s not the same fat that you eat. Body fat can only come from glucose, which is normally derived from carbs food.
All carbs food is addictive. Once you become a carbohydrate addict, you face all the same problems faced by any other addict. Cravings, headaches and other physical pains, as well as withdrawal symptoms.
Proteins food is critical to human survival. It’s what builds and mends our skin, bones, muscles, tissue and organs. Carbs food is not so important. In moderation, natural carbs food will add flavor to your diet. But too much, and it can ultimately kill you. How? morbid obesity, type2 diabetes, heart disease, colon and bowel cancer.

What can I do to manage sugar cravings caused by Seroquel, a mood stabilizer?
I asked this question in the mental health category, but got no response except some stupid advertising that had nothing to do with my question, so I’m trying it out here.
I’ve tried cutting out sugar all together, but then I end up on a crazy sugar binge. I’ve tried a high protein diet, low carbs diet, but that only exacerbates my irritable bowel syndrome. I am at my wits end. I’ve gained 25 lbs in 9 months and I feel sluggish. The weight gain has also affected my self-esteem. I’ve talked with my psychiatrist and she is no help at all. And going off my meds is not an option, unless I want another freaking crazy manic episode. Other mood stabilizers have similar or worse side effects. I really don’t know what to do, and I don’t just want to accept my weight and let it stay the way it is because it is not healthy. Any tips are most welcome. Thanks.

To solve your variety of problems you need to focus on one at a time. You are undoubtedly addicted to carbohydrates. That’ll make you depressed and unhappy. You’ll crave carbs food as you’ve already notice with sugar. Carbs food is highly addictive and as an addict, you need to avoid it as much as possible. First make a decision to cure your addiction. Most of your problems spring from that. It means an ultra low carbs diet, Which is basically a protein diet. Limit your carbs food to leafy greens and green vegetables. Do not eat sugar -period. Sugar is a carbs food and it is feeding your addiction. All carbs food leads to addiction. it causes obesity, type2 diabetes, heart disease, bowel and colon cancer.
When you avoid carbs food you can expect some withdrawal symptoms. If you persevere for at least a week, the symptoms will disappear. As to you bowel problems. I suggest you take a large spoon of Natural, pure wheat bran twice a day. My advice may be very different to others who claim to be ‘expert’, but they are either ignorant with regard to how our body works, or they have a financial agenda. There is no health value in a carbohydrates. That is a fantasy created by cereal manufacturers and other diet food producers.
Human beings have managed without carbs food, many times, for long periods, over many centuries. Carbs food provides flavor for your tastebuds and fuel for your body. But only when you have energy to spend. If you don’t spend all the fuel, your body converts it to body fat. That’s the fat that makes you fat. The more carbs food you eat – the fatter you’re likely to get. What is protein? It’s that vital stuff that builds and mends your bones, skin, muscle, tissue and organs.
We can live perfectly well without carbs food, but we cannot exist without proteins food!

Dealing with some weird symptoms please help?
So I am epileptic and taking meds which already have their many side effects.A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia which is a form of diabetes. In my family my grandparents from my father’s side both have diabetes,my dad might have the beginning of diabetes(where you do not use a needle and are still producing insulin),my sister did a test and figured out that she is hyperglycemic and predisposed to diabetes which also puts me at risk. Here is the twist:I would go and eat out with my bf at the time and would be so dizzy but thought that I did not have enough food to eat so I would grab some lunch only to have my headaches return after my meal.
That continued for a semester and I found out that I was hypoglycemic when I went to the doctors on campus asking them what is wrong. After the tests came back and the results came I was advised to eat meat which I get tired of a lot so they advised a high proteins food and low carbs diet.So I followed that but even so when ever I would go out or especially after I would eat a bowl of pasta with chicken on top(grilled) and minimal or no dressing I would still be dizzy or rather what it felt like a headache gone bad. That in the end has cost my GPA to go down for the past 3 semesters as my health deteriorated.
Last semester before finding out that I was pregnant and after having a miscariage I still had headaches caused by what I had no idea,I would have to keep a bottle of Advil and one of Exedrin with me for migranes as well.As of now when I am with my family and friends they think that having something sweet like a cookie or a glass of soda with cure it or spike my sugar level which it will do but temporary.I am worried because I have not as much energy as before,I have these headaches or lite headeness that I had before and I know that something is not right. My sister told me to get tested with the same test she did and see what the outcome is.I am 25 years old,120-125 lbs,5 foot 5 inches and petite.I need someone’s help on what to do because all I feel like doing is sleeping the day away, when I was at the mall the other day I had a shake and I had the biggest headache even though I had some food to eat. What should I do?

One of the problems with self diagnosis is that the quality of your health service depends on the quality of your health provider. Your priority should be to cure your carbohydrate addiction. If you don’t, you will end up with type2 diabetes and believe me; you are going to hate the diet you’ll be forced to follow then. So get off the carbs food diet right now and get some proteins food into your body. Pasta is not protein. Neither is bread, sugar and all the other stuff to which you are addicted. What is protein? Protein is meat, poultry, fish, seafood, eggs, hard yellow cheese. You should also include fat like oil, butter and mayo . It prevents hunger and it combines with protein for best result. Although they are a carbs food, you can also add leafy greens, green vegetables and berries to your protein diet.
But most important of all. It’s time you get some genuine medical advice. First is a neurologist about these headaches and second is a GI doctor to find out why you are getting these problems after you eat. These doctors will get to the bottom of what is going on with you. Please have your doctor give you a referral in the morning for them. You don’t need to be tested for the same thing as your sister as she is a different person, with different problems.

Hair loss after carbohydrate meals, but not much after a protein diet..?
I think this could have something to do with blood sugar levels and maybe when my blood sugar levels get too high with carbs food they cause my hair to fall out more…I was off a med that I was on for years that kept my blood sugar low as a side effect..now I’m noticing it more..I feel better when my blood sugar is higher than it was then but the hair loss is more and I can notice it after eating a meal with a lot of carbs food. Will exercise hurt or help in hair loss and is there any supplement I can take to prevent blood sugar from spiking too much without making me having low blood sugar for a long period of time…I figure a low carbs diet would keep my hair lasting longer but do not wish to go that route
P.S. by carbs I also mean refined carbs food like sugars too
