Sugars and simple carbohydrates – They are 100% carbohydrates.
All carbohydrates prevent weight loss. But the carbohydrates our body knows and has evolved to process are unlikely to cause any weight problems if kept below 20% of the foods you eat. The important thing is to get plenty of protein. That’s what will prevent weight problems for good.
Saturated fats encourage fat loss *IF* you have a diet low in the acceptable carbohydrates and high in protein.
Carbohydrates were never meant to be available in excess year around. Carbohydrates were only meant to originate from natural sources and be available during harvest season. Carbohydrates trigger an almost insatiable appetite so you can eat them in almost unlimited quantities. Carbohydrates put your body in ‘storage’ mode. That’s to store as much fat as possible so we can survive winters & famine.
Eating more than 9g per hour of carbohydrates, will trigger the only fat storage hormone, insulin. When insulin dominates the blood stream other hormones – glucagon, sex hormones like testosterone & human growth hormone aren’t able to function properly. Glucagon is so busy “tempering” insulin, it’s not allowed to do it’s main function, which is burning fat for fuel. In other words: Carbohydrates will ultimately make you fat.
The only reason any diet work at all, is because you lower carbohydrates when you lower calories. But by lowering calories you alert your body to famine. That means your body will store as much body fat as possible. Studies have shown that some people can gain body fat even on a semi starvation diet of 1000 calories a day. Calories have nothing to do with weight loss. – If you eat lots of carbohydrates, you will use only a very small part of it to burn energy. What you don’t use is converted to body fat. Basically; body fat = whatever carbohydrates you have been unable to spend on energy. Today most of us eat way more carbohydrates than we could ever use. That’s why everybody is getting fat!
Don’t try this at home, but one well known scientific study proved that a high fat, no carb diet achieved a better weight loss than fasting (not eating at all). In the study, both groups had the same amount of weight loss, but the group that fasted lost mainly lean tissue. The eaters lost mainly body fat. Fasting, eg. detox, shuts down the metabolism. The body is forced to function on minimal calories and stored body fat. This means lean body tissue is permanently lost. Not surprisingly, this seriously effects your metabolism.
In summary: Obesity is a disorder of excess body fat accumulation, usually due to a lack of protein and a gross excess of carbohydrates.

Protein is essential in any form of healthy diet. It is self regulating and work as a natural appetite suppression. You cannot get a weight problem on a protein diet.
Carbohydrates are not essential. The are the body’s preferred, but not only, option for burning energy.
Fat won’t make you fat, but carbohydrates will. Particularly carbohydrates that are processed an manufactured. Fats are essential to good health. They support a strong immune system and helps hormones to function properly. Fat tempers the devastating health effects of carbohydrates. Most people do much better with a higher level of fat than with less, even if the body is being fueled by carbohydrates and not on fat.
The body can not release body fat stores until the bloodstream is clear of insulin. Carbohydrates greater than 9grams per hour trigger insulin. Insulin is the only fat storage hormone.
I am adamantly opposed to low calorie dieting. That’s because most people will lose a good portion of lean tissue (including vital organs like the heart) along with stored body fat. These losses that may not be restored. Low calories slow the metabolism to function on fewer calories. Low calories convert dietary protein to a very inefficient fuel, forcing the body to catabolize it’s own lean tissues for nutrition. There is no nutrition in body fat, only energy.

I’ve been extra careful not to have any carbohydrates and furthermore, I’m eating so much less than what I was used to, and yet, sixth day of diet : weight loss = nill.
I am feling a bit lighter though… I have 3 stones to lose…

It could be all sorts of things.
You may already be at the correct weight for your body, or you don’t have much to lose. (How much *you* think you need to lose may not be the same as what your body thinks).
You may be shrinking, even though you’re not losing weight, if you are exercising and replacing the fat with muscle.
It could be “that time of the month”.
You could be eating a lot of sodium and retaining water.
Do you feel better? That’s what counts. If there is body fat, as long as you persevere, the weight loss will come!

The diet only includes a water-based soup made of cabbage and other similar vegetables. Three to four meals of this restricted diet supply approximately 500 kcal per day. The diet is very low in protein and fat. All of the calories come from the modest amount of carbohydrates in the vegetables. This diet is similar to starvation.

There is no question you need help. But as a carbohydrate addict, I fear you are too set in your ideas to even listen to sound advice. if your best friend is an alcoholic, do you suggest smoking less? Of course you don’t. Unless your addiction is cured you cannot expect to eliminate the cravings and binges that are part of your addiction. As an addict you will never lose weight for long.

Can a 14 year old take fat loss pills?
I was looking at a product in amazon called “Carb Blocker Ultra, Maximum Strength Carbohydrate and Starch Neutralizing Formula/Diet, Fat Loss, Slimming Pill. Lose weight WITHOUT dieting”. I also read the reviews and it has 5 stars. The reviews were very good. So I don’t know if a 14 year old can use this and it says that it would not have any side affects. Please answer if you know. Thanks!

Nobody at any age, should use diet pills. They are dangerous and they don’t work for long. Whatever weight you happen to lose, it will all be back quickly and there will be lots more of it than before. Ask you mother to get The carbohydrate Addicts Manual. She will then be able to guide you safely through your weight loss. If you follow the manual the weight loss will be permanent.
