Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

Helen Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

Helen asks…

good carbohydrates for type2 diabetes?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

admin answers:

Ideally, type2 diabetes victims should create their meals with proteins food like meats, fish seafood, eggs.  Add carbs food like green vegetables an salads.   Do not eat any carbohydrate produced in a factory.  They are not suitable for your digestive system.

Ruth Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

Ruth asks…

Which carbohydrates are best for type2 diabetes?

My aunt has type 2 diabetes. I noticed that even though she has cut out all kinds of sweets, white breads, and potatos from her diet (which is good) she is always eating wheat bread, crackers, and sweet potatos. Are these really better choices? I thought all carbs food turned to sugar.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

admin answers:

Yes, all carbs food does turn into sugar.  But there are carbs food that our body has been used to over many centuries.  These are good choices. As long as she doesn’t eat too much of them, they are fine. Complex carbs food like whole grain breads, whole grain crackers, veggies, and even sweet potatoes are fine from a diabetes point of view, but foods that come off a production line should never be considered genuine food.  For the sake of a healthy body, they should be avoided.

There are so many great food choices in so called green vegetables and salads.   Eating fake carbs food should not be necessary for anyone who loves good food.

If we eat the food our body likes we no longer need to worry about calories.  Our body will tell us when our stomach is full.

Thomas Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

Thomas asks…

What are complex carbohydrates and why are they important to type2 diabetes?

why are they a better choice for type2 diabetes? why is it good to mix a complex carbs food with fruit?
Yeah, the doctors said, that if I have an apple slice, to combine it with peanut butter, because of the complex carbs food I don’t quite understand it

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

admin answers:

I’ve never heard about the complex carbs food and fruit combination. But I do know if you eat peanut butter with fruit it is better for your blood sugar. I was told it was the proteins food in the peanut butter. And that though peanut butter is excellent, any time you take proteins food with carbs food it’s better for your blood sugar.

I may know why you’re getting confused. Is it because the peanut butter contains carbs food? When I had gestational diabetes (which reacts in a similar way to type 2) I was told that I didn’t even have to count the carbs in PB, because the proteins food in it was so beneficial. Unless I wanted to eat a whole cup of it of course LOL …

Michael Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

Michael asks…

What is “Saboo Dana”? Can it be taken by someone with type2 diabetes?

Saboo Dana is eaten by most of the people in fasts. It is common in Maharashtra and Southern States. Some experts tell us that it is mainly carbohydrates foods/sugar. Is it good for diabetics?
R. K. Agrawal

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [type2 diabetes]

admin answers:

Saboodana is prepared from Tapioca and is high in starch content. It is not good for type2 diabetes.  A small quantity, if consumed once in a while, is harmless. All carbohydrates foods and starches and get converted into sugar and hence it is bad for people who suffer with type2 diabetes.  Whether it is rice or wheat, small quantities only are allowed.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

Joseph Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

Joseph asks…

I am on a protein diet and have an addiction to beef jerky…!

Ok… so, going over receipts from the past few weeks, I have found that I spend about 80 dollars a week on beef jerky, at 7 dollars a bag… The financial part is not a problem… it’s just the fact that I actually eat that much beef jerky!!

Is this at all safe? How do I stop it? I know this sounds like a ridiculous question, but I’m quite serious!

The bag I get has these Nutrition facts on the back:

Serving size – 1 oz
servings per bag – 8
Calories – 70
Calories from fat – 10
Saturated fat – 0.5g
0 trans fat, 0 polyunsaturated fat.
mono unsaturated fat – 0.5 grams
Cholesterol – 30mg
sodium – 810mg
total carbohydrates – 2g
sugars – 2g
protein – 15g

Am I slowly killing myself? Keep in mind, I buy 11 bags on average per week…
Um… I’m not trying to lose weight… I weigh 150, if you can’t tell by my picture…

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

admin answers:

A 16-ounce bag of World Kitchens brand beef jerky is around $8.50 at Wal-Mart. Cut up into small pieces and weigh out 1-ounce portions for consumption control (like 1-ounce every other hour).

Beef Jerky is salty and that may well be the cause of the addiction.  Salt is very bad for you.  So is processed food, even when it is made of protein.  Try to wean yourself off it gradually.  It is not natural for the body and it contains chemicals.  No chemical is suited to be ingested by your body.  It’s a safe bet to say anything that that is packaged and preserved is not food fit for the human body.   It may work for our taste buds, but it plays havoc with our digestive system.

Try to aim for a natural protein diet.  Introduce regular meat and fish to your diet.  For a meal, serve a large piece of meat or fish with a couple of small serves of vegetables or a salad.  Eventually you will find a favorite among the many natural, unprocessed foods.  That’s the time to replace the beef jerky.

Donald Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

Donald asks…

First 3 days on a protein diet – what to eat?

A women said something about no carbohydrates the first 3 days then going crazy. By day 4 my carbohydrate addiction should be gone.
Sooo, Curiosity what do I eat.
A no carbs food, but fatty/caloried foods?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

admin answers:

Deli meats are great… Especially chickens & turkeys
eggs
yellow cheese
Poultry… anyway you like it!
FISH! This is the best thing you can have.
Keep your carbs food to green vegetables and salads.  Avoid peas, carrots, corn, and potatoes.

I am a huge advocate of a protein diet.  It is the diet chosen by our ancestors . It works wonders. Good luck!! And by the way, its true that on the 4th day you won’t even care that you’re not eating carbs food.

James Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

James asks…

What is the right diet for my blood type?

I am A+ and according to that whole “Eat right for your type” diet I should be a vegetarian, but 2 problems.
1) Eating only produce makes me ill (Eating simple carbs like rice and other bad stuff doesn’t make me physically ill, but it makes me put on weight).
2) I know I am a carbohydrate addict.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

admin answers:

I do not believe that the blood type diet works. There is no evidence for it.

But then I should mention I don’t believe in diets at all.  Not if  it involves cutting down on calories, portions or anything else.  The first things you need to do is cure your carbohydrate addiction.  Once you have done that everything becomes easy.  When you no longer have food cravings, you can be much more objective about it.

Sandra Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

Sandra asks…

I’m a heavy set person and I have had success with a protein diet.  I’m now considering non-vegan vegetarianism. What do you suggest?

I’m a big girl, and I currently eat a lot of meat. My appetite is really only satisfied when meat is a part of the meal. I eat way too much. A few years ago I tried a protein diet and lost 70 pounds, but I failed at it, because I went off the diet. I then gained all the weight back because I couldn’t stop eating. I learned from that year that I definitely was/am a carbohydrate addict. I feel like I have the same addiction to meat.  I feel I could learn even more by breaking my meat addiction. I also feel like my body and health is simply telling me that avoid meat for a while. What would be the healthiest thing I can do for myself? Any help would be appreciated.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [protein diet]

admin answers:

You are doing a lot of experimentation with your food based on passed diets and hunches.  The one place you haven’t checked to verify what you should eat – is with your own body.  You are after all a human being with a metabolism and digestive system like all other human beings.   That digestive system evolved eons ago on meat, fish, poultry, eggs and seasonal greens and fruit whenever available.   Our digestive system did not evolve as vegetarian.   You lost weight on the protein diet because you cut out most carbs food and ate the food most akin to the diet that was our traditional diet till around forty years ago.

As you say yourself, you have become a carbohydrate addict.  All addictions, including carbohydrate addiction need to go through a kind of purge to be cured.  Until they are we continue to suffer the symptoms like cravings, withdrawals, binges, depression.  These are familiar symptom to drug, tobacco, alcohol and all other addicts including carbohydrate addicts.

You will never lose your weight for good till you cure your carbohydrate addiction.   When the addiction is gone so are the symptoms, and so also is the weight.   As long as your internal system is happy with your choice of food, there will be no more weight problems.

B) Pasta- Carbohydrate
C) Yogurt- carbohydrate
D) Fish- Protein

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

Helen Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

Helen asks…

Whats the quickest way to lose weight and how?

I don’t care what I have to do,  I want the quickest way to lose weight.
My life is crap at the moment and I feel I need to lose weight to make it better. Even if i have to starve myself. – please help

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

admin answers:

Starving yourself is the last thing you want to do.  Your body will assume you are in a famine.  It will slow down your metabolism so it can conserve your fat.  When the famine is over, your body will make sure all the weight is recovered, plus a little extra for protection.  This is how obesity statistics continue to grow.   You cannot avoid that. – It’s nature.

Finding the right diet meal plans  that will get you to a body-fat level for your gender and age, is not that difficult.  You need just two things. 1.  The foods your body likes and  is able to process easily and quickly.  2. regular exercise to make your body burn off the glucose and stop it from storing fat cells you don’t need.

First of all you have to understand that the right diet meal plans that appear good to you, are not necessarily the food your body likes to process.  Our metabolism and digestive systems were developed on foods very different to those we call normal today.

Till around forty years ago, most people still stuck to the traditional protein diet ,with some added, natural carbohydrates.  Before refrigeration, not that long ago, people spent seasons virtually devoid of any carbohydrates foods.  They were slim and a lot healthier than people are today.  [trust me: - I know because I was there]

About forty years ago, due to a false scare campaign about cholesterol and diet, people switched from a traditional diet of proteins food, used for generations,  to a diet of  mostly carbohydrates foods.  The result is what we see today. Escalating obesity statistics and a growing problem with type2 diabetes.  To make matters worse, we have the highest ever rates of heart disease, colon and bowel cancer ever known.

So to your question: The quickest way to lose weight,  is to cooperate with your body and give it the food it likes and can process.   That EXCLUDES any food that comes in a plastic wrap, a package, a box or any other container that suggests it has been processed in a factory or food plant.  If it is not fresh, don’t eat it.

Eat unlimited proteins food like fish, meat, seafood, poultry and eggs.  Add some nuts [not too many] and some avocado, for the amino acids.  Add also greens like spinach, lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, and fresh herbs and spices.  Make sure the proteins food represents around 80% of your meals.

When people try to tell you proteins food is bad for you remind them that they are the building blocks of life.  They build and repair our skin, muscle, tissue, bones and vital organs.  This is something no carbs food can do.  Without plenty of proteins food our kids grow up sick, fat, and lethargic.

If people continue to tell you proteins food is bad and carbohydrates foods are necessary; remind them our ancestors survived through an ice age on virtually nothing but proteins food.  Had they been unhealthy -the severe conditions would have ensured they would not have survived and we would not be here today.

What does carbohydrates foods do?  All carbs food, whether it is a lettuce leaf, a slice of bread or a lollipop, to the body, it is all treated the same.  It is broken down into glucose.  If you are a fit person with some energy to spend, you body will replace whatever energy you spend with your fresh supply of glucose.  Your body cannot store glucose.

If you have no energy to spend your body will convert the glucose into fat and store it on your body.  The more carbohydrates foods you eat, and do not spend in energy, the fatter you get.   Not rocket science, but vital to know.

To really get the picture, use a motorcar analogy.  Think of the carbohydrates foods, which are turned into glucose, as the fuel that drives your body.   If you don’t get behind the wheel and drive the car, you won’t use any fuel.  In your car, the fuel will sit and stagnate.  In your body it will be stored on your hips, your thighs, around your vital organs and in your arteries.  One day it may kill you.

If you follow this advice, you will not only lose the weight quicker than any other method, you will keep the weight off for good.

For an even better result, you should do some EXCERCISE.   Cardio excercise is anything that will get you out of breath, your heart rate pumping and you sweating (running, swimming, cycling, etc). it will force your body to burn glucose and stop it from storing fat.  It will improve your overall fitness levels.

Strength training basically improves the muscles and tones your body, this comes from weight training, core training (sit ups/planks/etc), stretching (such as yoga) and dynamic training. This is necessary to keep your body strong and supple and will also help you burn fat and speed up your metabolism to burn even more fat.

If you follow this advice you WILL LOSE THE WEIGHT.  If you keep following the advice, you’ll keep the weight off for good.

James asks…

Whats the quickest way to lose weightin a month?I have serious issues with my body at the moment, so bad i make myself sick, but i need 2 find a diff way to lose weight quick without doing this, please help but please dont judge me

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

admin answers:

First you need to match the desire to lose weight with the willingness to do what it takes to lose it.  If you are a carbohydrate addict, and I suspect you might be, you will first have to cure your addiction.  The good news about doing that is it will remove all those food cravings that make it so hard to diet.  As the food cravings disappears, so does the weight.  If you keep doing what you have learned, you will keep the weight off for good.

There are two ways to get the result you want.  The hard way: Read through the posts on this site and work out a way to use the information correctly.  Or the easy way: Click on this link and learn to use the Carbohydrate Addicts Manual.

Daniel Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

Daniel asks…

What is the quickest way to lose weight and get your mind off of food?

Ok I weigh 220 pounds and im 5’9 – 5’10ish.  I would like to learn the quickest way to lose weight, but without damaging my health. I need a couple pointers on how I can lose this weight.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

admin answers:

To help you I first need to know whether or not you are a carbohydrate addict.  If the answer is yes, you will never lose weight for long until you first cure your addiction.  How to do that is what I teach in The Carbohydrate Addicts Manual.  You should know that if you are a carbohydrate addict, you share that fate with around sixty % of the population.

If on the other hand, you are one of the forty % who are not yet addicted to carbohydrates foods, and you want the fastest possible result, here is what you do.  Spend two weeks on a diet of unlimited proteins food.   No carbs food whatsoever.   Do not go hungry, just make sure you satisfy your hunger on proteins food only.

Do not attempt to count calories and ignore portion controls.  They won’t matter.  Also do not worry about fat in the meat or fish.  Drink plenty of water and for hot beverage, choose green tea.  Eat till you feel satisfied and eat again when you feel hungry.

If the first few days of doing this are very difficult you may still need The Carbohydrate Addicts Manual.  That will ensure you get the results you want.

If you look at the previous answers above, you will learn what is protein and what you can eat.

Carol Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

Carol asks…

What is the quickest way to lose weight?

Im not happy with the way I look, and honestly, I dont care if its not healthy, I wunna lose weight the quickest way possible,
Thank you <3

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

admin answers:

You should have a fair idea whether or not, you are addicted to carbs food.  If you crave a particular food, if you feel you cannot live without it.  If you feel depressed when thinking of doing without it – then yes: You are a carbohydrate addict.  Apart from urging you to read all my previous answers above, there is only one critical thing you need to know:

You will continue to grow bigger with each diet you attempt.  Diets are not natural to our body and dieting is not a normal thing to do.  Diets are a new invention and if you want to know what they have contributed to humankind over the past forty years, take a good look around.  Just about everybody is getting fat.

Forty years ago, just about everybody were still slim.  What changed?  Our diet changed!

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [Quickest way to lose weight]

admin answers:

If you don’t have much to lose get a good program of exercise.

- Exercise 6 to 7 days a week.

- And try to break your workout into two different sessions, this gives your metabolism a jolt.

- Drink 10 to 12 cups of water a day. And try to drink ice cold water, it helps burn the fat.

- Take enough vitamins, especially ones that promote weight loss (such as 1800 mg. Of Fish Oil, Vitamin B Complex, Co-enzyme Q-10, ect. Do your research).

- Drink green tea or take green tea pills ( it’s been shown to speed up your metabolism).

- For the good of your metabolism, eat within 1 hour of waking up and don’t eat 3 hours before you go to bed.

- Drink 12 oz. Of warm lemon water (use the juice of 1/2 a lemon) with a little sea salt every morning. This will detoxify your body and make your skin look amazing.

- Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism up.

- Try to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. When your body is deprived of sleep your appetite increases by 15%.

Just remember, – you can do this. It’s not impossible. You just have to stick to it and the weight will just fall off.

If, after all this, you still want to follow a regime of diet meal plans to lose weight, read the above answers and follow the advice.

Good luck!   I hope I’ve helped.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

Nancy Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

Nancy asks…

Is  low carb food a good way to loose 1 stone?

I want this stone off in the next month. the thing is, I think I am addicted to sugar. if I have any, I crave more and then more. If I dont have it, I am never hungry. But I love sugar. Is low carb food any good if I just cut out bread, pasta, cereal, sugar and concentrate on low sugar fruit, veg and protein

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

admin answers:

To your body, all carbs food is the same.  Whether it is a bowl of cereal, a spoon of sugar, a piece of fruit, or a slice of bread, once it gets to your digestive system it is all converted to glucose.  Glucose is a liquid form of sugar which is used by your body when you decide to take a brisk walk, or spend an hour in the gym.   If you don’t spend energy the glucose will be converted to fat.  Most carbs food eaten by the average person ends up as body fat.   If you need proof of that take a look around.  Everybody is getting fat.

If you cut out bread, pasta, cereal, sugar and concentrate on proteins food, low sugar, fruit and veg, you will lose weight.  But if as you say, you are a carbohydrate addict, you are up against two big problems. 1. You are going to find it very hard to stick to low carb food.  it a bit like asking a heavy smoker to stick to a packet a day.   2. As a carbohydrate addict, (if you are an addict) you will never lose weight for long until you cure your addiction.  When you do that you will lose the weight automatically.

John Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

John asks…

Why would Low Carb food work for me?

Seriously? Don’t carbs food give you energy, which helps you burn fat if you use it properly? I’m positively a carbs food addict, and I’m quite skinny… so how does the low carb food diet work for someone like me?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

admin answers:

let me make one thing very clear.  Carbohydrates do not give us energy.  They provide the fuel if and when we want to spend energy.  Proteins food can do that too.  It’s like adding fuel to your car.  If you don’t get behind the wheel and drive it, the fuel will go stale.  Because our body can’t store glucose, (that’s the fuel that drives us) it is forced to store it as fat cells.  When you eat carbs food and do not spend much energy, you end up with body fat.

Carbohydrates are the least essential food of all.  They were introduced to our diet late, in the twentieth century.  Demand was first driven by a scare campaign about cholesterol and diet. This was fuelled by a food manufacturing industry that wanted a solid footing.  To a diet and manufacturing industry, there was no money in a protein diet.

Our history proves we can manage very well without carbs food.  There have been long periods in human history, where we have done entirely without carbs food.  That includes the last ice age.  If you are a carbohydrate addict you’ll hate hearing this.  But it’s a fact.  We can get by without carbs food but we cannot exist for long without proteins food.

A low carb diet, that is to say, a high protein diet, was considered normal till forty years ago.  That’s when we had a cholesterol scare campaign and most people, when tested, proved to have high cholesterol.  The only cure was an ultra high cholesterol and diet solution.  This has often been referred to as the pyramid diet.  Thirty years later we learned that the reason for the high number of people with cholesterol problems was incorrect testing.

There never was a high cholesterol problem.  But it proved a boon to cereal, diet food and other processed carbs food manufacturers.  They have had a lucrative ride on that lie for more than 3 decades.  Through their efforts, sixty % of the population have become addicted to carbs food.  We have a raging obesity epidemic.  Type2 diabetes is an epidemic waiting to happen and incidences of heart disease, colon and bowel cancers have never been higher.

Ruth Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

Ruth asks…

Low-Carb Confusion. Help?

My freshman year of college I did the “Carb Addictsdiet, which went well, but I was constantly hungry. I now want to get back on my diet, only not that one. I wanted to do just a general “low-carb” deal. I was wondering what foods are low-carb and if anyone has any great low-carb recipes.
I also want to add that I go to the gym everyday and I do work out with weights and do cardio. I just need to better my eating.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

admin answers:

If you always feel hungry on a low carb food diet, it is because you are a carbohydrate addict.   It means you suffer cravings, binges, constant hunger pains and frequent pangs of depression.  These are symptoms suffered by all addicts including, drugs, alcohol and tobacco.  Unless the addiction is cured no amount of low carb food is going to satisfy you for long.  Once the addiction is cured, so are the symptoms.  That means you will not feel hungry and you will feel more than satisfied with an unlimited supply of proteins food .

What is protein?  It is meat, fish, seafood, poultry, nuts, cheese, and eggs.

Betty Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

Betty asks…

I need help choosing a diet and fitness plan. Suggestions?

I’ve had 3 children and it’s left my body flabby and 50 lbs overweight. My youngest is now 4 yrs old so it’s time I finally do something to loose the weight. My biggest problem with a diet will be that I am a complete carbohydrate addict. Also I loose weight incredibly slowly and get discouraged rather easily. Anyone out there tried anything that works great for them?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

admin answers:

As a carbohydrate  addict, you have a responsibility to cure your addiction.  Not only for your own sake.  You are a mother of 3 children.  Your lifestyle will become their lifestyle.  If you are a carbs food addict, so will your children be when they are old enough to eat what you eat.   You have an opportunity to cure your carbohydrate addiction.  When you are addiction free you will be able to guide your children on a lifestyle that will not only keep them slim and healthy, it will ensure they will not pass their carbohydrate addiction on to their own children. Your future grandchildren.   That is something you can live to be very proud of.

Curing your carbohydrate addiction is a lot easier than living with it and watching your children grow up and suffer with it.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [low carb food]

A low carb food diet is very helpful,  but only when you have stopped being an addict.

No carbohydrate addict can remain on a diet for long.  The weight always returns.   Your best solution is to cure your carbohydrate addiction.  When you do that you will lose your weight problems for good.   You will also lose your cravings and binges and those constant hunger pains.  Low carb food is the food our ancestors ate every day. It was our traditional diet till 40 years ago.
