Suddenly Fat People Are The Majority

Who would have thought we’d ever learn that fat people have become the majority?   Mother Nature did not design us to be fat.  Nor were we expected to become carbohydrate addicts.  You will find a link below that leads to a release about that subject. I think you will find interesting and informative.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

Steven Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

Steven asks…

Does obesity in children fall on parents who are obese themselves?

I am completing my study for my PhD in sociology and have primarily focused on the west coast. Of the 13,463 families I have interviewed at a variety of locations 73% of obese parents have children that are obese. I find that hispanics have the highest parent to child obesity ratio at 87% and asians have the least at 32%, Now, I want o quiz folks to get their impressions and comments to see if this is an awareness issue.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

admin answers:

Unfortunately, obese parents invariably pass their lifestyle on to their children.  When parents are obese they are usually carbohydrate addictsObesity in children usually means the same.  When I was young there wasn’t much activity you could do indoors. Riding our bikes, catching frogs and snakes, climbing trees, looking for fossils, running and playing were what we did every day.  I don’t remember seeing many obese kids or parents around then.

Mark Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

Mark asks…

What are some ways to decrease obesity in children?

If you notice, more and more children are becoming obese. In fact, children are expected to live five years less than their parents because of obesity. In fact, a stunning 17% of kids aged 2-19 years old in the USA are obese. What are some ways to implement change in nations where there are fast food chains on every block?
Should a really abuse child be concidered as ‘neglected’?
I meant should obesity in children be considered neglect.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

admin answers:

Probably not. But parents need to educate themselves about the kind of diet they pass on to their kids.  Obesity in children, and in parents, usually spells carbohydrate addiction.  I don’t think obesity in children should be considered neglect when parents are given official misinformation about what to feed them.  I do think parents have a responsibility to inform themselves beyond the official line. You can learn more about carbohydrate addicts here:

It would be a frightening thought though to think that parents have no sense of responsibility to their children.  That they may carelessly make maybe bad carbs food choices for their kids and letting them become obese—parents make bad choices all the time—but a mistake does not make a crime.  What is a crime is the fact that people can declare themselves diet experts and knowingly, or simply stupidly spread misinformation, bad information and sometimes dangerous information without ever having to be held responsible.

As far as what people can do when “there are fast food chains on every block” (not to mention processed food for sale in supermarkets) is to learn how the body works, what type of food the digestive system can handle and exactly what role is played by carbohydrates foods and proteins food in in relation to our diet.  Once we have those answers we will know how to select the right food and avoid trans. Fat, sodium and other dangerous additives. We will stop buying stuff like soda, junk food—or, like my parents did, just buy one dessert or other snack as long as everything else is healthy.

Finally–and this can be a bit difficult when people are always working—COOK YOUR OWN FOOD and pack your kids a school lunch box.

That is how you avoid obesity in children and in yourself.

Michael Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

Michael asks…

What is your opinion on obesity in children?

I can’t help but notice that there are tons of daily articles on Yahoo about obesity in children and bad eating habits. There was one comment I read though… The woman stated that allowing your children to eat sweets, junk foods, and fast foods should be considered child abuse and bad parenting. Do you agree?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

admin answers:

Of course not!
It is like Mrs. Obama said– there is no reason not to let your child have the occasional “junk food”… What is child abuse is not giving them anything else OTHER than junk food.
Not only due to obesity– but to malnutrition and growth issues related to eating habits.  Carbohydrates foods have a lot to answer for.  There were no obesity issues among adults forty years ago. Obesity in children was unheard of.  But then we were coerced to change out traditional diet…  The consequences can be seen everywhere there is people.

The BIGGEST contributor to obesity in children is carbohydrate addiction.  It has become entrenched in our lifestyle.  Until we cure that addiction obesity statistics will continue to sky rocket.
Gone are the days when your child could safely stay outside all day running, biking, jumping rope– now they are on the computer, playing video games, texting etc… And can’t even walk to a friends house without worrying about their safety!

And if parents would get-together to FORCE the schools to feed the children correctly at lunch– AND have recess & Gym- 1/2 the battle is won!
(our schools got rid of outdoor recess and gym for budget reasons– and they serve nothing but starches and fried carbs food JUNK at every lunch!)

It is NOT for our Government to tell us how to shop, cook, eat or raise our kids– but I believe teaching kids how the body works and what kind of food the body knows how to process would be a good start.  It would help even more if parents could be taught the same thing.  Most don’t seem to know what the body does with the food they eat.  That should be mandatory education for adults and children!!

Charles Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

Charles asks…

What are some reasons why the occurrence of obesity in children is increasing?

What are some of the long term consequences that these children can face in their lifetime? What does the Web site tell you about obesity that you were not aware of before? Explain what you have learned.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

admin answers:

Because most parents today don’t seem to know or care what goes into their bodies.  Children get the same message.  Often they basically feed themselves, eating what ever is in the pantry.  That usually means chips, cookies, and juices from the fridge, Pop, snacks etc.  So many people have given themselves and their children up to obesity and carbohydrate addiction.   Yet with very little effort they could cure their addiction and prevent weight gain and obesity in children for good.

Jenny Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

Jenny asks…

What do you know about obesity in children?

I have to write a persuasive essay for English class. I chose to write about obesity in children. I need to prove that food isn’t the only reason that kids are obese. kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [obesity in children]

admin answers:

For one thing, I know obesity in children is not genetic.  it is a condition kids inherit from their parents not from genes but from their lifestyle.  How do I know that?  In the past, not so long ago, the only kids, (and adults) who were obese were sick.  They were usually in the 10% category of type A diabetes.  Sometimes the problem was related to an under active thyroid.  Normal healthy people were slim people.   This was also before type 2 diabetes was known.  Obesity in children and adults is entirely diet related.  Forty years ago the normal diet was the traditional diet based on proteins food. Then some people caused a panic about cholesterol and diet.  it seemed just about everybody had high cholestrol.  Soon people were persuaded to switch to a high carbs food diet to reduce their cholesterol numbers.

Sounds reasonable right?  There was just one problem, the test were all wrong.  Instead of showing the hdl ldl ratio, they simply added the numbers together.  This guaranteed an abnormally high reading.  So they quickly corrected their error Right? Wrong.  It took till quite recently, thirty years later, to fix their mistake.  In the meantime, millions of people had been persuaded to switch their diet from the proteins food our body was designed to process. To carbs food, particularly processed carbs food that is alien to our body and highly addictive.  And the most extraordinary thing about that?  Not a single person ever stopped to ask how the body felt about that sudden change.

Well, with the benefit of hindsight, we know how the body felt.  Today we can take a good look around and agree that yes, everybody is getting fat.   Obesity statistics are climbing,  doctors warn of an imminent type2 diabetes epidemic, heart disease, colon and bowel cancer have never been more common.   These are all diet related diseases.  Sure, there are other causes such as lack of  physical Activity and regular exercise.  Sedentary behavior – High frequency of television viewing, computer usage, and similar behavior that substitutes for physical activity.  But none of them come close to the damage caused by carbohydrate addiction.

Obesity in children and adults will continue to increase till we accept the problem and cure our carbohydrate addiction.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

Linda Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

Linda asks…

What are carbohydrates; as in complex carbs food vs simple carbs food?

is white rice and white pasta considered as complex carbs food? if so, how come they are bad for you i thought complex carbs food are good for you??? what are some simple carbs food to stay away from?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

admin answers:

I am very aware of the confusion about the question; what are carbohydrates

Apart from the foods that grow in nature and have been part of our diet for centuries, all Carbs food is bad food.  Processed carbohydrates foods, such as white rice, white flour, sugar, pasta etc are the worst.  Any food that comes from a factory.  Or comes in a package, a box, a wrap or a bag.  In short, any food that comes from a processing plant is bad carbs food. In fact, it is not food at all.  It has been through a process that neuters it as a food.  It has then been reformatted with chemicals, fake nutrients and a variety of dyes and fake flavors to give it color and taste.  It is not real food.

It is dangerous carbs food because it is addictive.  It is responsible for more than sixty % of the population being carbohydrate addictsCarbs food has caused the highest ever rates of heart disease, colon and bowel cancer and numerous less fatal diseases. We are creatures of nature and nature provided a smorgasboard of  proteins food and carbs food for us to feast on.  These were nature’s foods.  They were meat, poultry, fish, seafood, eggs – they were proteins food. They were accompanied by carbs food like leafy greens and vegetables. None of these foods made us fat.

Protein foods did not mess with our digestive system to cause bowel and colon cancer.  It was not proteins food that caused pharmacies to stock their shelves with preparations for digestive and intestinal discomfort or troubles.  They certainly did not fill our hospitals with people requiring treatment for cancer, type2 diabetes, morbid obesity and countless, less fatal diseases.  There were no obesity statistics to be concerned about.

We should know by now that when we mess with nature we lose.  We did it forty years ago, when we changed our traditional diet based on proteins food, to a new diet based on carbs food.  Our health has gone downhill ever since. So what are carbohydrates?  Whether complex carbs food, good carbs food or bad carbs food. In the final analysis it is irrelevant.  All the carbs food you eat goes through your system the same way.  Your body can’t distinguish a bowl of pasta from a bowl of salad.  It is all carbohydrates foods and it all ends up as glucose.

Glucose is the stuff your body manufactures to make fuel.   When you use energy, your body will burn the necessary fuel.  Whatever is left over is turned into body fat.  The less activity you produce the fatter you’ll get. Good carbohydrates mean green leafy vegetables and berries, the old ‘apple a day’. Whatever nature provides.  Very few people burn enough energy  to eliminate the carbs food they eat. That means more fat on the body.  All human created carbs food, including all cereal brands, are simply extra weight for the body. Contrary to popular belief and misleading advertising, there are no natural vitamins or nutrients in manufactured food.

No carbohydrates foodscereal brands or otherwise, contain proteins food.  Not unless it is a stuffed turkey. Another overused untruth is that carbs food is our source of energy.  The truth is all carbs food become glucose once it enters our body.  If the body doesn’t use the fuel/glucose for energy, it is converted to fat.  That is because the body can’t store glucose.  An analogy would be to say that your car doesn’t go when you fill it up with fuel.  it goes when you get behind the wheel and drive it.  If you don’t drive it the fuel stays in the tank and goes stale.

Jenny Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

Jenny asks…

Carbs food vs. Good Fats vs. Bad Fats?

I am trying to maintain my weight, as I’m close to the “underweight” zone. Therefore, I’m trying to eat 50% of my calories in carbohydrates foods and 30% from fats (with the remaining 20% coming from proteins food). The problem is, with the bad raps that both carbs food AND fats have gotten, I’m not exactly sure if this is a healthy balance or not. The thing is, you still have to eat, I have no choice but to take in both carbs food and fats (like most people, I would think) in order to maintain daily calories.

But which one has a greater effect on insulin resistance? I don’t have type2 diabetes, but I certainly don’t want to get it. Obviously carbs food will directly spike your blood sugar levels, but I’ve read that fats can block receptors and also increase insulin resistance? So, to ask bluntly, are you basically s*** out of luck no matter what you do?

What is it SPECIFICALLY that makes fats that come from olive and canola oils, nuts, and seafood healthier than fats that come from other sources, such as butter, margarines, processed snacks, and many types of meats?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

admin answers:

You first need to go to my first reply above and read it.   You need to understand your body and know what carbs food and proteins food do inside your body.  Like most people today, you over think and over complicate your food.   Believe it or not, except during the last forty years, most people were always slim. Slim was normal.  People got along without counting calories, without diets or worrying about what  carbs food to avoid and what proteins food to eat, at what %.  And yes, they did it all by instinct.

A diet is when you analyze, categorize and designate certain foods as you would for a medical prescription. It’s complicated.   People used to eat by instinct. That’s before we ruined those instincts with misinformation.  Mother Nature did not design our body to diet. It doesn’t understand dieting.  It responds like it would to a famine.  That means you are guaranteed to get all the weight back as soon as the famine/diet is over. That’s nature!

Unfortunately, today’s lifestyle dictates that we get our fruits and vegetables and all other natural carbs foods from a cooler.  That will probably be a cooler in a van that transports the ‘fresh’ carbs food to the local store.  Fresh carbs food begins to degrade the moment it is harvested.  Even when kept cool,  the carbs food will loose most of its nutrients within 24 to 48 hours.  That is way before it hits the self where you pick it up.

It is not by a fluke or an accident that health food stores have strung up across the world.  It is simply evidence of the price we are willing to pay for health and convenience.  What we must not do is fool ourselves that it is anything else.

As for your questions about fat.  Fat is not a bad thing.  It used to be a reasonable part of our proteins food .  It has a rarely recognized benefit for those who want to lose weight.  It stops you feeling hungry and it doesn’t make you fat.  In the past,  when it was normal to eat a generous amount of fat, most people were slim.  Heart disease, bowel and colon cancers were far less common than they are today.

What you need to know is that the fat you eat is not body fat.  Body fat comes from carbohydrates foods that your body has been unable to use for fuel.  Your body will burn your excess fat long before it will burn your carbohydrates foods.  There are essential fats that we can only get from omega-3 and omega-6.  As for using cooking oils, even butter, to fry your proteins food like meats or fish.  As long as the produce is fresh, don’t give it a thought.  Like fat, Red meat gets a bad rap. A huge study from Harvard just came out that showed it was fine as long as the meat has not been processed.

Susan asks…

Good carbs food vs. Bad carbs food?

What are the carbohydrates foods to avoid(I know some might be obvious…) and which carbs food should I be getting more of? I’ll give 10 pts! thankyou!

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

admin answers:

First of all, you need a lot more proteins food.  There is no limit to how much proteins food you can eat, but you need to avoid any processed carbohydrates foods.  Any so called food, that comes wrapped, packaged, boxed or bagged, curtesy of a food processing plant or factory.  Here is a list of 146 reasons why refined, processed carbs food like sugar can ruin your health: http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm .

For diabetics all refined, processed carbohydrates foods are not only bad foods they are dangerous to your health.

Good carbohydrates foods are those that nature provides.  With the exception of certain root vegetables, including potatos.

Sharon Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

Sharon asks…

Running vs Walking for weight loss and diet meal plans?

My bf and I are constantly battling over what is better for weight loss.

He says running I say walking.

I’ve read walking is more beneficial to burning fat while running will burn more carbs food over fat. I’ve also heard, unless one is an experienced runner it can be bad for the knees and lower back.

So does anyone have the truth.

I am trying to lose a bit of weight, just so I can feel comfortable again but I have a horrible diet. I hate breakfast which I know is a killer for the metabolism so another question I have is would this be suitable diet meal plans to lose weight?

Breakfast – Two peices of fruit + 6 almonds

Morning Tea – Soy Latte

Lunch – Pita wrap with fresh salad mix

Afternoon Snack – (which I rarely feel like) Yogurt or fruit

Dinner – Meat and veg

Plus I drink lots of water.

Is there anything I should add or take away.

admin answers:

I would change your carbs food breakfast.  2 pieces of fruit is like a sweet soda. It will spike your energy for a short time after which you will flag.  A breakfast of carbohydrates foods is the worst possible way to start the day.  Instead, choose a proteins food breakfast,  like eggs and bacon.  It will give you all the energy you need and it won’t produce an ounce of fat however big the serve is.  As for your exercise:

Walk or run first thing in the morning before you eat breakfast. This will focus solely on your fats, lipeds(calories). It will strengthen your body and increase your metabolic rate. That means your activities through the day will burn more fat.  It doesn’t really matter if you walk, speed walk, jog, run, sprint or anything else, just do it before eating anything. And then, after walking or running, eat a solid breakfast of proteins food.

Mark Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

Mark asks…

How do I lose weight, gain muscle and get in fit shape when I have little money and horrible self-esteem?

I’m pretty much pinching pennies and spending money only on necessities 95% of the time. I’ve been very depressed and lethargic and have been living a sedentary lifestyle for several months. I’m finally starting to feel a little dedicated and want to take things further and make a habit out of it before I lose interest like I have for other things I’ve wanted to pursue.  I’m trying to cut off on carbohydrates foods and go cold turkey on soda; whenever I’m thirsty I just drink water now.

Years ago I did martial arts training and thought I’d try to repeat it by memory on my own free time; I also got a Krav Maga book by David Kahn for Christmas, which I hear *might* help with weight loss and such a considerable amount.  I want to try doing regular sets of sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks and such every day and upping the sets weekly-monthly, and perhaps walking in place for 30 minutes daily if I can’t find the time to go for a walk outdoors. I’m hoping to improve my eating habits by laying off junk.  Eating less processed carbs food and going more to vegetables to help clean my digestive system including frequently drinking water.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [What Are Carbohydrates?]

admin answers:

Cut out all processed carbs food and eat as much proteins food as you can.  The next step is to put those thoughts into action.  The best exercise in the world is a long brisk walk.  As to other exercise, those you mention can be done from home.  You do not need a gym to do effective, result gaining exercise. You just need to do it!  Yes – right there at home.

Stop thinking about how you feel and what you can’t do.  Just get on the floor and start doing it.  Who knows !  You might surprise yourself.

So what are carbohydrates?  They are the foods our ancestors survived and thrived without for long periods of time, including an Ice Age.

In other words; carbs food is not essential.  What is essential, and what we cannot live without is proteins food. That is what builds and mends our skin, bones, muscle, tissue and vital organs.  We are made of proteins food and we can’t exist without it.  If you have had enough of seeing obesity in children, something that would have been unheard of 25 years ago. Then put some proteins food back in their diet. And do it now, before it is too late.

It’s time we treat our proteins food with the respect it deserves.  I hope this finally dismisses the question; what are carbohydrates?

Jenny Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [carbohydrates foods]

Jenny asks…

what is the quickest, healthiest way to cut down on carbohydrates foods and lose weight in a week?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [carbohydrates foods]

admin answers:

Cut out all carbohydrates foods and eat as much proteins food as you can.

Make sure your proteins food includes some fat.  Drink plenty of water and exercise as much as possible.  At the end of the week you will not only be slimmer, you will be a lot healthier.  That’s because you will be eating the way your ancestors ate.  They did not have weight problems.

You will notice I said ALL carbohydrates foods.

You may need to google a list of carbohydrates foods and a list of proteins food. You must make sure you follow this correctly.  If you add carbs food of any kind, and that includes drinks, you will not succeed as you hope.

Healthy and Quick way to lose weight in a week?

I am going to Mexico in less thank two weeks, and i want to not have to suck in my stomach the whole time! Are there and good tips on how to lose the belly without anything drastic? I dont want to be super-duper skinny, but just have a flat-ish stomach..

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [carbohydrates foods]

admin answers:

Don’t waste your money on any drug/pill based quick weight loss gimmick. Read the advise I gave to Jenny. This will give you a kick start to some weight loss.  It should also avoid any feelings of hunger you might normally get when you change your diet. Drink lots of water – but don’t over do it you could wash too much salt and other electrolytes from your body…drink enough to the point that your urine has very little to no color and maintain that.  Exercise – but again – don’t over do it or you can actually keep yourself from losing any weight because your body will go into preservation mode.  When the week is up and you are happy with the results, you can begin to add some carbs food back into you daily meals.

At all cost avoid processed carbohydrates foods.

Instead start with some leafy greens, and vegetables and gradually see how you go.   To maintain a fit and slim body, do not let the carbs food exceed more than 20% of your total daily intake of food.

Charles Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [carbohydrates foods]

Charles asks…

What’s a quick way to lose weight in a week?

I am 12 years old. I am sometimes made fun but I’m average. I really want to be likeable and cute

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [carbohydrates foods]

admin answers:

I’m sure you can be both of those things Charles.  But if you have a weight problem at 12, you need to adjust your eating big time.  There is a good chance that you are a carbohydrate addict.  That means the first thing you’ve got to do is cure your addiction.  You should carefully follow the advice I gave to Jenny above,  and do that for two weeks instead of one.  After that you can very carefully add the safe carbs food I suggested to Mark.

When the carbs food you eat, make up around 10% of your daily food maintain that position for a least a month.  If at any stage you find yourself gaining weight, go back and start again.  If you feel good and you continue to lose weight, when the month is up you can add some more carbs food.   The one thing you must not do at any stage, is include carbs food that come in a box or a package or a wrap.  These are the fake, processed foods that have caused your addiction.  As a food, they have no value whatsoever!

Make sure you eat three meals a day.  Never allow your carbs food to exceed 20% of your daily meals.  Have a big serve of bacon and eggs for breakfast and do not eat any cereal brands. If you can get into these healthy habits at your age, you will never have a weight problem again.  Through history, people have lived for long periods of time, including an ice age, without any carbs food at all.  The purpose of proteins food is to grow your bones, skin, muscles, tissue and vital organs.  As long as you eat lots of protein you will never have to worry about your health or weight again.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts [carbohydrates foods]

If you follow the advise given above, you will know the quickest, safest and healthiest way to lose the weight that you can possibly do.  The amount of weight will depend on how diligently you can stick to the regime.  You need to avoid all carbohydrates foods in that period.
