Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and type2 diabetes!

William Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and type2 diabetes!

William asks…

What would be the best diet to prevent  type2 diabetes ?

I currently am writing an article about diabetes. I have been searching and reading many evidence-based articles. However, I’d like to hear your own opinion on type2 diabetes .

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and type2 diabetes!

admin answers:

The only way to prevent type2 diabetes is to understand it.  It is important that we do not confuse type2 diabetes with the type A version, which has always been with us.  With type A diabetes, heredity, plays a big role. It has always only affected around 10% of the population.    Type2 diabetes on the other hand threatens to become an epidemic.  It is very much a late comer and is entirely diet related.  Personally, I don’t know of anyone who had ever heard of type2 diabetes forty years ago.

That is about the time people were encouraged to change our old traditional diet.  They were told there was a new modern diet that would not only promote better health, it would solve a highly publicized problem with cholesterol and diet issues.  At the time,  a huge number of people were affected. A scare campaign was in full swing and a diet for high cholesterol was welcomed.    Much later it proved only the method of testing was wrong.

People naturally assumed this new diet had the backing of science and that all these claims had been verified by trials and lab tests.

Not only had the diet never been tested, it was a fake diet in the sense that it was simply an opposite version of our traditional diet.  The people who created it had no science or medical knowledge.  They simply wanted to produce a new diet that was different and therefore interesting enough for people to try.  The easiest way to do that was to flip the old diet upside down.

The new diet was usually depicted as a pyramid.  Nobody thought to turn it upside down but if they had, they might have notice they were seeing a break down of the old traditional diet.

The thing to remember here is that forty years ago, weight problems were rare and dieting even rarer.

Type2 diabetes can be traced right back to the change in our diet.  So what was that change?  Our internal system was developed to process a diet of mostly protein.  Over the centuries we learned to adapt to a variety of natural carbohydrates.  This never included manufactured and processed carbs food.  The modern new diet contained mostly carbohydrates.

For the past forty years we have seen a continuous growth in food products produced in a factory.  Whatever the label might say, Protein is not something you add to carbs food.  Proteins food and carbs food can be on the same plate.  But unless you use stuffing in your meat, you won’t find the two combined.

So here is a recipe for preventing type2 diabetes. First let us assume you are not a carbohydrate addict.  If you are, you must cure your addiction before you do anything else.  Carbohydrate addiction spikes our already massive obesity statistics.  It also leads to type2 diabetes.

If you are not a carbohydrate addict, simply maintain a low carb food diet.  Do not include carbs food that is boxed, packaged or wrapped.  Eat only naturally grown carbs food.  There is no shortage of those.  If you do that, it is highly unlikely that you will ever have to worry about type2 diabetes.

Betty Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and type2 diabetes!

Betty asks…

How does type2 diabetes, pancreatitus, and high tryglycerides tie together?

I have type 2 diabetes, and severely high tryglycerides, and chronic pancreatitus. I have already had to have a portion of my pancreas removed. I just want to know how it all ties together, and what exactly do tryglycerides do?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and type2 diabetes!

admin answers:

They’re all tied together by an over consumption of carbs food which turns to tryglycerides, which clogs up your cells and increases your insulin resistance which then overworks your pancreas as well as starving it from vital nutrients.

Once you choose only low carb food based on the low glycemic index and you include some basic daily exercise, like walking.  Things should begin to level out.

Richard asks…

What are some symptoms of type2 Diabetes?

What are some things that can happen to you when you have type2 diabetes ?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and type2 diabetes!

admin answers:

Some people have no symptoms whatsoever. Others can be thirsty, pee a lot, tired, etc.

If you have uncontrolled type 2 diabetes, you can go blind, kidney failure, amputations, heart attack, stroke, are among the most common problems.

When in doubt, see your doctor for blood tests.

Note: there is NO CURE for diabetes. There are only treatments.

Once diagnosed with diabetes, you may have trouble getting health insurance coverage and life insurance. You may also be disqualified from some jobs like airline pilot and interstate truck driver.

Charles Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and type2 diabetes!

Charles asks…

Does anyone know some good vegetarian guidelines for people with type2 diabetes?

I just found out that I have type2 diabetes . I know I have to stay away from jams, jellies, etc. What are the best proteins food items I can eat to help me stay healthy? Any other vegetarian/diabetes info would be helpful. I want to try to go veggie for this!

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and type2 diabetes!

admin answers:

Here’s some info:

http://www.vrg.org/journal/diabetes.htm

Proteins food includes all meat, poultry, eggs, fish and seafood.  There are no limits to how many of those foods you can eat.  Your body will automatically curb your appetite whenever you eat them.

Type2 diabetes, which is an entirely diet related disease, is acquired from eating too much carbs food, particularly processed carbs food.   Vegetarian food is carbs food.  Although it is usually the kind of carbs food that is natural and considered acceptable for your body, it is still another extreme diet.

Your body works best with the diet that nature expected us to eat.  I is the only diet that is compatible with our digestive system.  That would be our old traditional diet.  It was made up of no more than 20% of naturally grown carbs food.  The rest was mostly proteins food with a reasonable amount of fat.  Before we changed our diet from mostly proteins food, to mostly carbs food, type2 diabetes did not exist.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and Low Carb food!

Helen Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and Low Carb food!

Helen asks…

I need a list of low carb food suitable for a diet?

I’m on a diet of low carb food for 1 month and need everything thats low in carbs but not high in cals though either..i know some things low like tuna, popcorn, turkey, is turkey chili low in carbs if i use black beans in it?, string cheese..plz someone give me a BIG LIST of low carb foods!

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and Low Carb food!

admin answers:

As long as you are not a carbohydrate addict, a low carb food diet is good.  It will help you lose weight.

On a low carb food diet, calories do not matter.

Also be sure you add some fat to your diet.  If you are a carbohydrate addict, no diet can work till you first cure your addiction.  You can learn about that in

The Carbohydrate Addicts Manual!

To truly benefit from low carb food you need to understand a little bit about foods and about your body.  All the carbohydrates foods you eat; The good, the bad etc, will all go through the same process once it gets inside your body.

It is all turned into glucose.  Glucose is another word for sugar.  It’s the stuff our body uses to fuel our energy.  So our body doesn’t care about what type of carbohydrates foods you eat.  It only cares that it is natural, unprocessed carbs food that it understands and can process efficiently. There is no such thing as a low carb food or a high carbs food.

The only way to categorize carbs  is to separate the two actual types of carbohydrates foods.  First we have the carbs food made by nature.  This is the good carbs food that nature created.  This is carbs food that the human body has learned to process.

It is the carbs food that grows above the ground. Our body has known those carbohydrates foods for centuries.  Then around forty years ago we changed our traditional diet, which was based mostly on healthy protein food along with that good natural carbs food.

We completely changed our foods to a new high carb diet that contained very little healthy protein food. Our body pays dearly for that change to this day.

Foods like tuna and turkey, in fact all meat, poultry, fish seafood and eggs are healthy proteins.  They will never contain carbs food unless for example: You stuff your turkey.  They are pure, healthy protein food and unlike carbohydrates foods, we cannot exist without them.

The 2nd type of carbs food is what is best described as bad fake foodsMother Nature had nothing to do with those foods.   They come out of a processing plant or a factory.  They contain chemicals to give them shelf life and when eaten regularly, turn us into carbohydrate addicts. They are dangerous to our health.  Worst of all,  if we are addicted, we eventually turn our kids  into addicts as well.

So in answer to your question, there is no such thing as a list for low carb food.

Not a legitimate list anyway.  A low carb food diet can only mean a high protein low carb diet.  A low carb food diet by itself, would mean eating only up to 20% of what you normally eat and that would be disasterous.

What you need to do is eat unlimited healthy protein from those I described above.  Your low carb food should be less than 20% of your daily intake of food.  It should come only from the kind of carbs food that is naturally grown.

Mark Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and Low Carb food!

Mark asks…

will having a high protein low carb diet help me lose weight?

if it does help me lose weight, how does it work? i read online before (can’t remember where) that the proteins cannot be digested with carbohydrates? or something like that? correct me!

can someone provide a list of HIGH proteins food and low carbs food?

thanks!

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and Low Carb food!

admin answers:

I know there are people trying to suggest that proteins food cannot be digested with carbs food. That is not only wrong, it is dangerous advise. 90% of what we are told today about proteins food is utter nonsense.  This is the food that grows and mends our skin, bones muscles, tissue and vital organs.  Without proteins food there would be no people to talk about it.

Everybody talks about the benefits of carbs food.  That’s because carbs food can be manufactured and proteins food cannot.  In short – There is no money in proteins food for the manufacturing industry.  For centuries, proteins food were our dominant diet.  There have been periods in human history, including an ice age, where proteins food was all human beings could get.

We cannot survive without proteins food. But history proves we get along quite well without carbs food.

Millions have been invested in a false premise that carbs food gives us energy.  We fill up our cars with fuel to make them go.  If we leave them in the garage the fuel will simply go stale.  We fill our body up with fuel. It comes from the carbs food we eat.  Our body turns it into glucose, which is another word for sugar.

When we don’t use our energy with activity, we won’t spend any fuel.  Our body cannot store fuel, so when we rest it turns it into body fat.  Carbs food doesn’t give us energy. It just supplies the fuel. Carbs food turn us into carbohydrate addicts, and it makes us fat.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts and Low Carb food!

admin answers:

If your aim is to lose weight, you can lose more body fat eating proteins food & fat,  than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast, eat all you want, but nothing but meat, fish, seafood, poultry, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter & half an avocado a day (for added potassium). Keep the calories high & the fat percentage high.  Green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

The first 2 weeks eat several cups a day of (mostly) lettuce & celery, cucumbers, radishes, mushrooms, peppers & more variety of vegetables thereafter – add 5 grams per day additional every week (20 grams day first 2 weeks, 25grams 3rd week, 30grams 4th week etc) til you gain weight, then subtract 10grams. That will be your personal carb level (everyone is different & depends on how active you are.)

Start with meat, fats & salads for 2 weeks and then slowly add in more green veg, wk4 fresh cheeses, wk5 nuts & seeds, wk6 berries, wk7 legumes, wk8 other fruits, wk9 starchy veg, wk10 whole grains. You will learn how your body reacts to different foods.

The first week you lose only water weight but fat is lost thereafter if you keep your calories high enough. Otherwise the body will strip it’s own lean tissue for nutrition. Although that may look great on the scales it will make it MUCH easier to accumulate fat in the future (since all that pesky lean tissue that burns up calories will be gone). The body won’t release fat stores if you lower calories below what it needs. It will slow the metabolism to compensate & store every spare ounce as fat. If you continue lowering calories, it will continue lowering the set point, til it can survive off nothing & store fat on anything. The body will only release it’s fat stores if it knows there is plenty of nutritious food.

Eating carbs food while trying to lose body fat is terribly inefficient. When in glycolysis (when you bur glucose as fuel) you have to lower your calories (which slows your metabolism) & exercise heavily to deplete your glycogen stores before burning body fat.

Simple carbs food is addictive & can be disastrous to health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs till all cravings and hunger pains are gone. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs, eat one every time you want “something” – have huge omelets with bacon, sausage, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops smothered with peppers, mushrooms & cheese – pork rinds & dip or tuna/chicken/turkey/egg salad – steaks – a huge sugar free cheese cake. Eat so much you won’t feel deprived of anything. Within a week the addiction symptoms will be gone & you can start making healthy choices.High insulin levels promote inflammation, weight gain, hunger & unbalance other hormones. Controlling insulin levels will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so lean muscle will be gained even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Ground flax seed (2 Tbsp) 1/4 cup water, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg – let sit 10 min. To absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle & nuke 2 minutes. Suggested for daily fiber needs.

As long as you have <9grams carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control & shouldn’t gain weight, no matter the calories because insulin, the fat storage hormone is not activated. Most people gain weight on a high carb diet.  When they switch to a low carb food diet to lose weight, they are shocked to find that when  they return to a high carb diet they gain the weight back again. Many people can return to moderate carbs food levels but very few can really eat all they want of sugar & still maintain weight or health.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Donna Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Donna asks…

What Is A Good Carbohydrates  That Carbohydrate Addicts Can Eat For Energy?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

It is important for all carbohydrate addicts to know that carbohydrates foods DO NOT give us energy.

They merely provide the fuel. All the carbohydrates foods you eat are converted to glucose. Glucose is another word for sugar.  As far as your body is concerned, all carbohydrate is sugar.  Imagine for a moment your car. It runs on petroleum.  Your body runs on Glucose.  Fueling up your car is like fueling up your body.  The fuel sits in the engine ready to be used.

But If your car doesn’t go anywhere, or your body doesn’t do anything, the fuel will just sit there.  In the case of your car, the fuel will eventually go stale. But this is where you body is different.  Your body cannot store glucose for the next day. Whatever glucose your body doesn’t use while you are active, gets turned into body fat and stored on your body while you sleep.  What that means is that carbohydrates foods do not give you energy. They merely provide the fuel.

What does give you energy?  Proteins food!  When your body has no carbohydrates foods to turn into glucose, it will draw on proteins food instead.  This has happened many times, sometimes for long periods throughout our history.  Proteins food is the one food your body cannot do without.  It is what builds your body, and mends your bones and skin. It repairs your damage or worn organs.  Unlike carbohydrates, you cannot live without proteins food.  Over the past forty years we have severely damaged our body by over feeding it with carbohydrates foods.  But what is even more serious. We are not giving our body an adequate supply of proteins food.

Mary Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Mary asks…

What happens if a child aged 3-7 does not eat enough carbohydrates?

I know what good it does; keeps the child from getting constipated, provides energy etc…

But what harm can it do if a child does not consume them or enough of them?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

Absolutely no harm at all Mary.  In fact you should be thrilled to find that your child does not crave carbohydrates foods.  The biggest threat to the nations health today is the fact that sixty percent of people are already carbohydrate addicts . This is expected to grow to eighty percent by 2020.  Your child should never be forced to eat carbohydrates foods.  We can live perfectly well without them.  What we cannot live without is proteins food.  The information you are getting about the right kind of diet to feed your child is wrong. Much of it is dangerously wrong.

Carbohydrate foods do  not provide us with energy.  It simply provides the fuel for us if we want to spend some energy.  Protein will do that whenever we run out of carbohydrates foods to burn.  In today’s world that’s not likely to happen. The fuel we don’t spend is converted to fat.  In other word: every carbohydrate we eat is turned into sugar.  We call that Glucose.  If we do not use much energy we will not burn much glucose.  That means more fat is stored on our body.  Very few people burn even a fraction of the glucose their body produces from carbohydrates foods.  How do we know that?  Carbohydrates foods make us fat and today everybody is getting fat!  Don’t let your child end up like that.

We all started out with natural instincts that told what foods are good for the body and what foods should be avoided.  Your child may be one of those rare people who still has those instincts in tact.  Do not ruin it for your child.  Just be thankful your child is not a carbohydrate addict.  If you are concerned about constipation, add a couple of spoonfuls of natural bran to the child’s normal food.   To learn more go here: The Carbohydrate Addicts Manual.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

George Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

George asks…

I think I’m one of those carbohydrate addicts you talk about.

I’m told I need a 6 meal/day planner? How do I get one of those?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

I have to say something here that I have wanted to say for a long time.   Since we changed our standard foods forty years ago, we have gradually lost touch with our own body.  In the past people knew just by instinct which foods were safe to eat.  They did not diet, they followed  Mother Nature’s diet just as their grandparents did.  It was our traditional diet.  It had been with us  and evolved with us for generations.  Our food was not an issue, it was a given.  Sure! we occasionally had a burger and other fast food, but we instinctively kept our carbs below 20%.  We did it without diets or calorie counters.

In fairness, we didn’t have the plethora of fake, factory carbohydrates foods that are around to tempt us today.  But then,

Most of those products would not exist, But for a ready made market of carbohydrate addicts craving for it.

Today people seem to need a chart, a list and a map just to decide on breakfast.  Because of widespread, irresponsible misinformation, people have lost confidence in their own instincts. They are no longer tuned in to their body. Most have no idea of what is right or wrong about food.

It shocks me to see so many people, particularly young people, so ready to hand over responsibility for their daily food and well being, to anyone who comes up with a plausible diet that promises a weight loss. The fact is diets don’t work no matter what they promise.  We are not built for diets and we are not built to get fat.

Mother Nature gave us a metabolism, a digestive system and all the foods we would ever need to remain slim, fit and healthy.   In that diet plan there was no room for factories churning out fake foods like processed flour, bread, cereal and a hundred other fake food that come off an assembly line.

Look around, everybody is getting fat.  Do you really believe that this is because people don’t stick to the latest concoction called a diet?  Don’t you find it strange that the more people diet the more people get fat?  The only diet related thing we have changed in the past 40 years is our food groups.  We went from eating mostly carbohydrates foods,  to mostly protein foods – virtually overnight.  Do you really think we can get away with that without consequences?

So what are those consequences?  What exactly has changed in those forty years?  Lets start with start with present obesity statistics, they estimate 60% of us have problems with weight. That is expected to reach 80% by 20202.   We also  hear doctors warning of a growing risk of a type2 diabetes epidemic. Despite the greatest advances in medical technology in our history, heart disease and bowel and colon cancer are at their peak.  In a pharmacy today you will find more medicines for gastric and intestinal complaints than any other kind.

Our metabolism and digestive system are works of nature.  When we changed from eating mostly healthy protein to mostly carbohydrate foods, we didn’t just signal a new diet, we changed nature.  We are beginning to learn that making changes to nature is not a very smart thing to do.

So what’s the answer?  The Carbohydrate Addicts Manual answers all the questions I’m sure you will have.  Even those you may not have thought off.  It helps you understand what is really going on inside your body, and what changes when you become a carbohydrate addict.  It is information every person should know. It will teach you how to cure your addiction and how to live an addiction free life. It means you will have no more food cravings or binges for the rest of your life.

When you stop being a carbohydrate addict you also stop having a weight problem.  It is that simple.  Very few people had weight problems forty years ago.  They were usually sick people – like diabetics.  But then we had to switch food groups and it wasn’t long before we had to diet.  For the sake of you and your family, you need to understand what happened and what you can do to change it. -  You will not want to see your kids turn in carbohydrate addicts when it can so easily be avoided.

Here is where you can find The Carbohydrate Addicts Manual.

Daniel Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Daniel asks…

Needed: a source for protein that is not carb/fat heavy?

I’m adding some vegan options into my food plan and with three meals, this is what I’ve come up with thus far:

Protein: 24.1 grams

Carbs: 145.3 grams

Fat: 9.3 grams

My diet is a 20/60/20 plan: 20 percent protein, 60 percent carbs, 20 percent fat.

BUT, with my current vegan food plan, my distribution is imbalanced at 12/78/10: 12 percent protein, 78 percent carbs, and 10 percent fat.

My carbs are too high because of how low my protein and fat intake is…I’d like to raise my protein intake and possibly my fat intake (WITHOUT raising my carb intake) by eating something vegan, but I have no idea of what to choose. (PLEASE do not respond with “you have enough protein“. I am an athlete and my protein needs are very specific and pre-determined by my doctor…not forum users.)

I’d like something that doesn’t taste or feel like sawdust in my mouth… It can be a snack, nothing fancy. I do love simple things and if it doesn’t require cooking or can be made in five minutes, even better. Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance…

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

Yes Daniel, I have several suggestions.  First I will ask you to read the previous answer.  It deeply concerns me when I see someone like you, trying so hard to do the right thing for your body.  Yet getting it so wrong.  You have been misled and that’s not your fault.  Your vegan options are wrong. These are carbohydrates foods and simply add more of a bad thing to your diet.

The first thing you need to know is that Proteins food are the building blocks of life.  They are the most critical, most important element in our food.  It is what builds, repairs and heals our bones, skin muscle and organs and it’s what grows our children. Without it there is no life.  Whatever pseudo science people try to conger up, they will never make carbohydrates foods do anything other than turn into sugar!  And even they know sugar is bad for you.

All those people who are out there plugging and pushing carbohydrates foods as an essential food for the body are not only wrong, they are selling you something and that something is very bad for you.  Whatever carbohydrates foods you put in your mouth. Whether is a vegetable, a piece of fruit, cereal, or bread or one of those obvious, manufactured carbohydrates.   To your body – they are all treated the same.  They are converted into glucose.

Glucose means sugar and sugar is the fuel your body burns when you use energy.  When you eat carbohydrates foods you are ultimately eating sugar.  If you don’t need energy, you won’t draw on any fuel. A carbohydrate has no value except as fuel. To say otherwise is like suggesting your car will run faster with more fuel. It’s plain silly. For most of us, we are usually left with a lot more glucose than we can use.  Since our body is not designed to store glucose it has only one option.  That’s to turn it into body fat.

Body fat is not the fat you eat, its the fat your body manufactures from the carbohydrates foods you eat.  Your suggested ratio of foods should be exactly opposite to what you have shown.  20/60/20 is just fine, except the 60 should be healthy protein – not carbohydrates foods. If you are a carbohydrate addict I must warn you that before you will find any normalcy in your diet, you will first have to cure your addiction. You can learn more about that below.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

William Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

William asks…

Is there any Low carb food without calories and what are carbohydrate addicts?

I’m diabetic and I’ve been working out. my blood sugar goes low a lot of the time and I have to eat or drink something to fix that. I feel like all that work I just did has gone right out the window. So I was wondering if there is some kind of food or drink that has carbs to bring up my blood glucose but little to no calories ( i know they kind of go hand-in-hand)

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

First of all, calories have no more importance to our weight than a tape measure.

If you know about my book, The Carbohydrate Addicts Manual, then you know I don’t believe in calories.

Your body tells you when you’re hungry.  If you understand how your body works and you listen to it, you won’t need to diet and you wont need to count calories.

That is, assuming  you are not a carbohydrate addict!

If you are a carbohydrate addict, you will be hungry almost all the time.  You will very rarely feel fully satisfied.  You’ll probably have a weight problem that never completely goes away and you will suffer most of the symptoms I describe above. If that’s a YES,  then we can assume you are indeed a carbohydrate addict.

That is a dangerous condition, particularly for a diabetic.  It means  that before you can even begin to get control of your diet and stabilize your blood sugar, you must first cure your addiction.  There are two ways you can do that:

1. You can get my book and follow the ‘how to’ manual.  It will put you on the right track where you’ll never have to worry about a diet again.  It is currently in launch at a special low price.  You Can get The Book here:

2. You can read through the more than fifty articles about carbohydrate addicts you’ll find on this blog.

From those you can pick up a lot of the information you need for free.  You do not say what type of diabetes you suffer.  But regardless of that, it is fundamentally important that you learn to understand your body, the types of food you eat and what your body does with the food.  First of all as far as your body knows, all carbohydrates foods are sugar.  That’s because they get processed into glucose which is just another word for sugar.  There are no ‘special non – sugar carbs food.  The reason we associate carbs food with energy is because glucose is what our body likes to use as fuel.It can also use fat and protein

What that means is we don’t get energy by eating a high carb diet, or even  low carb food.  What we actually get is sugar/fuel to replace the energy we have spent.  If we don’t spend the energy we won’t burn the fuel.  Our body was originally created for people who would spend a lot of energy to get through a normal day.  That is not the case anymore. Today most of us spend very little energy which means we eat a lot more carbs food than we can burn off.

In summary: All the carbs food you eat becomes glucose. Glucose = sugar.  Your body can only burn the amount of carbs food it needs to replace the energy you have spent.  But here is the kicker:  Your body cannot hang on to glucose. All that extra carbs food you cannot spend on energy gets converted from excess glucose to body fat.  That’s the kind of fat that that clings to the hips, nestles around the heart and invades your arteries.   So in the final analysis, Carbs food = body fat.

If you wonder why you have never heard this before and how I can be so sure that my information is correct, you should first know that several professions, industries, corporations and multi-nationals depend on carbohydrate addicts to keep their businesses running.  These are people with power and they have ways to keep you from getting the facts.

Joseph Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Joseph asks…

on every food/drink label, do they add the calories from the sugar, carbs food, fat, etc?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

Yes. All the calories are added up in the ‘Calories’ section – then it breaks down the various grams of each category below.

It is really not important how many calories are contained in a carbs food.  What is important is what that food does when it reaches your internal system.  All carbs food, no matter how many calories they contain are converted to glucose.  Glucose is the clinical word for sugar.  Your body burns the glucose it needs and converts the rest to body fat.

All you need to worry about is: Am I eating more carbs food than my body can burn for energy.  Because if you are, you will end up a little bit fatter than you were yesterday.

Richard Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Richard asks…

Recommended food/drinks with less carbs?

Please name foods and drinks without/less carbs food. name foods not to eat that have carbs. thnx.

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

Water doesnt have carbs….lol.  There are two main categories of foods that we eat.  Protein and Carbohydrate.  A food is either one or the other.  No carbs food contains protein, unless it has been artificially inserted.  If so, it will have no protein value.  Some manufacturers will claim their product contains protein.  That’s too silly to warrant a comment.  Protein foods are meat, fish, eggs, and poultry some cheeses and smallgoods. You do not need to count calories when you eat proteins.   Carbs food is pretty much everything else and calories are irrelevant.

There are two kinds of carbs foodgood carbohydrates and bad carbohydrates.  Good carbs food is the food that comes from plants or from the ground.  They are usually found in the garden or at the greengrocer.  They are natural foods served to us by nature.  Our body has had eons to learn how to digest these foods and it functions efficiently when we eat them.  Bad carbs are everything else.  They are carbs foods created and manufactured by human beings.  Human beings are not designed to eat artificial food.

Mother Nature did not take those foods into account when our body was designed.  As far as our body is concerned they are NEW carbs foods.  That means our body has not evolved sufficiently to process it without a negative outcome.

That’s why obesity statistics are rocketing.  It’s why type2 diabetes is getting out of control.  It’s why bowel cancer and heart disease are at all time high levels.  That’s also why, when we take a look at the shelves in a pharmacy we will see aisles stocked with medicines to alleviate gastric and intestinal conditions.  At least one of those medications can be found in almost every home. Does this look like the work of Mother Nature?.   Of course not. It’s just another case of incompetent Human Intervention!

What’s it gonna take for us to come to our senses?

Donna asks…

Should I eat carbs food and protein food post workout even when I drink a protein shake?

Just wondering should I look for carbs food and protein to eat after workout even once I have drank a protein shake with a lot of carbs and protein?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

That depends on a couple of things.   First of of all that you are in good health and your weight is normal for your age and size.  So let’s assume it is and that you are trying to gain some significant extra muscle mass.  In that case, go ahead and eat that extra food.  If you are smart though, you’ll make sure you keep your carbs food at no more than 20% of your total food intake. – Ever!  Otherwise you will soon know all about carbohydrate addicts.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts | carbohydrate addict

Helen Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Helen asks…

I take good care of my body and I am not a carbohydrate addict!

I do have a question I have always wanted to ask:  Is a drink as a category of food, a separate thing or both under same looking word?

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/food has one of definitions:
“1. Material, usually of plant or animal origin, that contains or consists of essential body nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals, and is ingested and assimilated by an organism to produce energy, stimulate growth, and maintain life.”

Water often contains minerals, but would distilled water still count as food?

Wikipedia says:”Food is any substance, usually composed of carbohydrates foods, fats, proteins and water, that can be eaten or drunk by an animal, including humans, for nutrition or pleasure.”
By this definition even distilled water is food.

But when I hear food, I usually understand it’s usage as reference to non-drink nutrient, rather than nutrient.
Like the third definition of thefreedictionary:
3. Nourishment eaten in solid form

Is food sometimes a word that means something that nourishes you from consuming it and some-other-times “Nourishment eaten in solid form” or just the latter?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

First of all, carbohydrates foods are not an essential body nutrient.  Ignoramus has it right. Wikipedia is written by amateurs, in the sense that although the author might know his or her subject, he or she can not necessarily express it clearly in words. Like certain teachers! Use Wikipedia to get a general idea, and something Like Encyclopaedia Britannica to explain it clearly.

Foods are materials that the body is capable of turning into energy. Water, whether distilled or not, is not one of those things. Food is not, however, always solid. Think about hospital drip feeds etc. Food can also be a drink and vice versa – as in Lucozade.

Laura Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Laura asks…

Will eating sushi and drinking protein shakes be ok when trying to gain muscle at the gym?

Hi,

I’m wanting to start eating sushi and drinking protein shakes as my diet while training at the gym.

I read on wikipedia that sushi is naturally low in fat, high in protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. So therefore it should be the perfect food shouldn’t it?

If someone could offer some advice and refer me to some websites that will be great.

Thanks

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

Yes sushi and protein shakes will help you build muscles.  But if you are trying to bulk up you need to add other things as well…red meat, chicken, fish, tuna, turkey, nuts, eggs and some fat.  You should also include a lot of green vegetables and some fruit.  Avoid heavy complex carbohydrates foods. They slow down your energy and force your body to extra work.

They also make you a future candidate for becoming a carbohydrate addict.

You won’t always want to bulk up. You may want children in the future or just live a more relaxed lifestyle.  If you have consumed a lot of complex carbohydrates, you may have unknowingly becom a carbohydrate addict.

Unfortunately, it is very easy to become a carbohydrate addict.  Much easier than curing addiction.

Once you get a taste for it it maybe too late.

John Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

John asks…

When someone makes a grilled cheese sandwich, and you can smell it cooking, are you inhaling acrylamide?

Acrylamide is a known carcinogen and potent neurotoxin introduced into some carbohydrates foods during the heating process. It is especially abundant in breads and potatoes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrylamide

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

Bread contains low levels of acrylamide not enough to pose an immediate health risk. But undoubtedly If you eat a large amount of bread during your life time then your risk for cancer starts to increase. It’s more potent when cooked or toasted but potato chips pose an even bigger risk.  Acrylamide is virtually unavoidable unless you stop eating things with Acrylamide in them or reduce your intake of carbohydrates foods.   Low carb meals would be a good way to start.

Having said that, I have yet to read anywhere that inhaling Acrylamide while cooking certain foods will cause neurological problems or brain damage.  Still, when it comes to any carcinogen I would assume the probability, however small.  The best bet is just not to grill or cook bread or any foods that contain this carcinogen, for too long. Use a low temperature when you  cook or eat any foods that contain acrylamides.  When in doubt – play it safe.

Paul Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Paul asks…

I’m a carbohydrate addict and I hear a lot about inhaling acrylamide.  Is this relevant to my condition?

I have checked wikipedia.  It says Acrylamide is a known carcinogen and potent neurotoxin.  It is introduced to carbohydrates foods during the heating process. I try to avoid bread but I don’t live alone.

When my roommate cooks a grilled cheese sandwich there is always a lingering odor that lasts for several hours.  Is the chemical acrylamide active in that odor?  And if so, is it in sufficient quantities to cause damage to the brain, being that it is in fact a neurotoxin?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

It’s unlikely. The danger is minute.  It becomes an issue mainly when the toast is burnt.  The change of odor will tell you when that happens.  Perhaps you can pass this information on to your roommate.  Get him to aim for a light brown.

The growing problem of carbohydrate addiction has become alarming.  Sixty% of people suffer from it.  If you are not already addicted you are very fortunate.  You should resolve to protect yourself against becoming a carbohydrate addict, by learning and understanding your own body and how to best protect it.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts! | carbohydrate addict

Steven Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

Steven asks…

# Why is a high carb diet associated with helping to reduce the risk of heart disease? and how do I know if I’m a carbohydrate addict?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

admin answers:

That is a complete fallacy.  All carbohydrates foods can be dangerous if you are a carbohydrate addict.

Even if you are not a carbohydrate addict, you soon will be if you begin to eat a high carb diet.

There is no legitimate scenario where a high carb diet will reduce the risk of heart disease.  In fact, the contrary is the case.  Carbohydrates foods promote obesity and obesity is a primary factor in heart disease, colon cancer and type2 diabetes.  I’m not just going to tell you that, I’m going to explain why.

When you eat carbohydrates foods – doesn’t matter if it’s a bowl of pasta, a piece of cake or a stick of celery, your personal food processor,-  your digestive system, treats all carbohydrates the same. Your body does not recognize one carb from another.  All carbohydrates foods are converted to glucose. Glucose is the fuel you draw on when you use energy.  If you don’t use much energy, you won’t burn much fuel.

If you eat a high carb diet you are likely to be left with a lot of unspent glucose.  Our body cannot store glucose for later. It has no choice but to store it as body fat now.

To a carbohydrate addict, as energy goes down, the appetite for carbs goes up.

Weight increases will compound. You begin to store ever more fat cells on your body. The fatter you get, the quicker you’ll become obese. And the more likely you are to get diseases like heart disease.

Linda Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

Linda asks…

What is a sensible amount of carbs to consume on a low to moderate carbohydrate diet ?….?

I don’t agree with the drastically low carb diets such as Atkins, I do like to include low gi fruits and non-starchy vegetables.. I want to lose weight sensibly so it will stay off ! I only need to lose 10 pounds. I am very active so need to be realistic here !
I am talking about grams of carbohydrate NOT calories !

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

admin answers:

You are right about calories – they are as irrelevant to weight loss as a tape measure.  The key to answering you question is to first know whether or not you are a carbohydrate addict.  That will tell us where your body is at.  Do you suffer cravings for sweets or any other carbs?  After dieting, do you still end up overweight?  Do you have sudden binges?
If the answers are yes,  then you are almost certainly a carbohydrate addict. That means you will never lose the weight for long till you cure your addiction.  If you want a simple guide on how to do that just click on the link below.

Your body converts all carbs to glucose. It will draw on that fuel when it needs energy.  If you don’t have much energy, you won’t spend much fuel.   The carbohydrates you don’t use will be stored as body fat.  That’s because your body is not able to store carbohydrates. Not even after they are turned into glucose.  For the sake of your health,  I suggest you add some oily fish, like salmon to your food choices. That will give you the iron and protein your body needs.  Above all, stop dieting.

If you do not suffer cravings and you have never been on a diet, then you are probably not a carbohydrate addict.  In that case,  here is what to do to get the quickest most successful result.  Don’t count calories and don’t diet.  Eat as much as you like, but make sure you don’t exceed 10grams of natural, unprocessed carbohydrates foods a day.  When the weight has gone, gradually re-introduce carbohydrates foods to no more than 20 grams a day.

Don’t rush it. Take your time,  allow your body to find the right comfort zone. continue to avoid processed carbohydrates foods.  If it is wrapped or packaged – It’s fake food – don’t eat it!

If you want to remain slim, and not become a carbohydrate addict, just follow those guidelines.

James Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

James asks…

What is the best food to eat if your a vegetarian & are on a low carb food diet?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

admin answers:

Tufo (soy), avocados, berries and all greens.  It is very important for your long term health to include some protein.  Proteins are the building blocks of life.  They mend our bones, repair our organs and grow our muscles and tissue.  All carbohydrates can do is provide the fuel when you need to use some energy.  Being a vegetarian,  suggests you eat natural carbohydrates.  A low carb diet requires you to eat less vegetarian/carbohydrates foods and more protein.  If you can eat fish – eat lots of oily fish, seafood and  of course eggs. Eggs are high in protein

Mandy Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

Mandy asks…

What is the fastest way to lose weight without starving your self or using a dumb carbohydrate diet?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

admin answers:

I’m not sure I know what you mean by a dumb carbohydrate diet.  If you are talking about not cutting down on carbohydrates foods then there’s not much you can do.  You will continue to get fatter, you’ll become obese and sadly, that will shorten your life.  Obesity leads to colon cancer, heart disease and type2 diabetes.  These are dangerous diseases.  Once you have any on of them you are likely to be in serious trouble.

I don’t know your age, but you need to have a serious talk to yourself.  What is more important – Your life or your food?   If you are a carbohydrate addict, and I strongly suspect you are, think of your children. Present or future.  If you are addicted – they will be too.  What kind of legacy is that to pass on?

If you have already put this in the too-hard basket, at least do this for yourself:

Drink plenty of water to keep your stomach full
Eat small meals at least five times a day

Avoid all processed, packaged foods.  (They are all fake carbohydrates foods)
Stay away from alcohol
Walk instead of drive — use stairs instead of elevator

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts!

admin answers:

I believe telling someone they need ‘a healthy diet’ is a cop out for not knowing the right answer to what IS a healthy diet.  Not knowing is understandable since conflicting information is everywhere.   I’m going to make that answer really easy and simple.  Mother Nature gave us a metabolism, a digestive system and the foods we needed to care for and grow our body.  For generations, we used what can best be described as a Traditional Diet.

Around forty years ago some people thought it would be a great idea to modernize that diet. So they reversed it.  They made it the exact opposite to the foods our body was used to. Till then, type 2 diabetes did not exist and obesity usually happened to sick people.  Why people went along with that change is a whole other story,

western union ukraine zhovti vodyclass=”dtm-content”>The result of that momentous shock to our body can be seen everywhere.  Six our of ten people are overweight.  We have an official obesity epidemic.  Type2 diabetes is close to epidemic proportions.  Colon cancer and heart disease in on the rise.   Does any of that sound like the hand of Mother Nature?

“How do people feel about a low carb food diet with type 2 diabetes“.  Very good I’m sure. The lower the better. As long as the carbohydrates foods we choose are not processed, or packaged.

Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Steven Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Steven asks…

Do carbohydrate addicts have more problems with carbohydrate digestion?

I’m a carbohydrate addict. Does that mean my digestion of carbohydrates is different in some way?  Also does carbohydrate digestion take place in the mouth, stomach, and small intestine? Or is it just the mouth and small intestine?  Are there any enzymes in the stomach that may play a role in the digestion of carbohydrates?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

If your stomach is that of a human being, and I’m sure it is. Then it was designed by nature to digest proteins and the most basic carbs food .  Around forty years ago we changed our traditional protein diet to a diet of carbohydrates foods.  Our body takes eons to evolve, not a few decades.  Today we have an obesity epidemic.  Sixty % of people are suspected carbohydrate addicts. Type2 diabetes, never heard of till 20 – 30 years ago as well as bowel cancer and heart disease are at an all time high.   Obesity in children was unheard of just a couple of decades ago.  Yet here we are talking about the subject of carbohydrate digestion!!

All <span style="text-decoration: carbohydrate digestion, whether it’s cereal, vegetable or grain, is broken down into glucose. What is glucose? Glucose is another word for sugar.  It’s the fuel your body uses for energy.  Glucose doesn’t actually give you energy, any more than fuel gives your car more pick up and go. Glucose simply provides the fuel you need when you take your body for a run, spend some time in the gym or do some chores around the house.  If you don’t get much exercise you won’t spend much fuel.  So chances are, you won’t use up the glucose.  Our body does not store glucose.  Any surplus is always stored as body fat.   In short, if you eat a lot of carbohydrate you are going to get very fat unless you are very athletic and do a lot of exercise.

Lisa Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

Lisa asks…

What does slowing down carbohydrate digestion do?

I heard that Fengugreek slows down your carbohydrate digestion. Does is make you gain weight easier?

kirsten1 cropped Your Questions About Carbohydrate Addicts

admin answers:

Whatever carbohydrates foods you digest. And however carbohydrate digestion occurs, it is going to end up as glucose.  If you don’t burn that glucose in energy it will be stored as fat.  Whether you gain more or less weight depends on how well you balance the amount of carbohydrate you digest to the amount of energy you are willing to spend.   The primary food your body needs is Protein.  That’s what builds you muscles, repairs your organs and mends your broken bones.  It can even be used for fuel.  Through history, the human body has spent long periods of time with little or no carbohydrate available.  Yet we have survived and thrived for thousands of years.

Some forty years ago we changed from a traditional diet based on protein, to a new, modern diet based on carbohydrates foods.   How that happened is a whole other story.  Today the effects of that change can be seen everywhere.  Sixty% of the population in the western world are overweight. Most are heading for obesity and almost all of them are carbohydrate addicts.  Does this sound like we are on the right track?

Has anyone had any issues with Metformin interferring with carbohydrate digestion?

Such as diarrhea, cramping, etc. Has your doctor told you to “just avoid” carbs? I am seeing a GI doctor in a few weeks. They think it may also be Celiac disease (gluten allergy). Your thoughts?
My insulin resistence is causing my ovaries to produce cysts, thus I can’t have children. The metformin is supposed to control this and give me more of a chance to have children.
